Decent Central Park tour

I took the Central Park tour in New York. The guide was friendly and pointed out some interesting spots I wouldn't have noticed on my own. The booking process was straightforward, and meeting the group was easy. My only small issue was that the group was a bit large, which made it hard to hear everything the guide said at times, especially when there was city noise. Still, it was a nice way to spend an afternoon and get an overview of the park. Overall, a good experience for what I paid.

Great time on Freedom Trail!

I had such a fantastic time on the Freedom Trail tour in Boston! Our guide was so knowledgeable and made history come alive. It was a perfect way to see the city. I'll definitely book another tour the next time I travel. Highly recommend to anyone visiting!

Good value walking tour

I booked a Free Walking Tour for my trip to New Orleans, specifically the French Quarter tour. I was a bit skeptical about the 'pay what you want' model, but it worked out great. I gave what I felt the tour was worth, and honestly, for the quality of information and the experience, it felt like a steal. I looked at a few other companies, but this seemed to offer the best bang for my buck without having to commit a lot upfront. Very happy with the overall value.

Thinking of booking a private tour for a family reunion, like 20 people. Any chance of a discount for that many?

D Daisy 1 week ago
You might get one. I think they sometimes offer group discounts for private tours, it's worth asking.

Yeah, I booked a private tour for a work thing, about 15 of us, and got a small discount. Definitely reach out to them.

Is this 'free' tour thing actually free or is there some catch where they hit you with fees at the end?

J Josh Carter 2 weeks ago
Nah, it's legit. You just tip the guide what you think it was worth at the end. No upfront payment required.

S Sam Silva 2 weeks ago
Yeah, 'free' means you decide what to pay. It's how they make their money, through tips. So don't stiff your guide if they do a good job!

What happens if it rains during a walking tour? Do they just cancel?

N Neil Marsh 1 month ago
They usually still run unless it's like, a hurricane. Bring an umbrella or poncho!

Nope, they almost always go ahead. Just means you get to see the city in a different light, haha. Wear waterproof shoes.

How do these compare to like, Sandemans? Is one much better than the other?

M Megan 3 weeks ago
I've done both. Free Tours by Foot guides felt a bit more passionate and less like they were just rushing through. Sandemans is good too, but sometimes feels more like a conveyor belt.

Honestly, it depends on the guide for both. I had an amazing Free Tours by Foot guide in NYC, but a so-so one in DC. Same with Sandemans, hit or miss sometimes.

Anyone know if they do tours in Barcelona? Planning a trip there soon.

B Beth Osei 1 month ago
Pretty sure they do. I saw Barcelona listed on their site when I booked a tour for Rome last year.

Yes, they're in Barcelona! Did a Gothic Quarter tour with them there. It was awesome.
